Gausuta Anjali Ji: A Life Dedicated to Compassion and Purpose

Born on December 14, 1996, in Kanjhawala, Delhi, Anjali Ji comes from a proud Kshatriya heritage. Her early years were defined by curiosity and passion. Whether excelling academically or playing hockey, where she represented her school thrice at the national level, Anjali Ji’s determination and talents shone brightly.

Her academic journey led her to postgraduate studies and qualification as a TGT English teacher. Though her teaching career at GBSS, Saboli, was brief, her restless soul yearned for a deeper purpose. This yearning marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey that would intertwine her life with a mission of profound significance.

From 2020, Anjali Ji began her career in the pharmaceutical industry, working with Farmer’s Pharma Pvt. Ltd. Despite the corporate success and dealing with medicines across India, a void persisted in her heart. A relentless thought occupied her mind, her beloved Gaumata (Mother Cow), often abandoned and left to scavenge, deserved more care and respect. The sight of cows rummaging through garbage or starving on the streets weighed heavily on her.

Anjali Ji’s empathy was evident even during her college days. Her lunchbox was divided into three portions: one for Gaumata, another for stray dogs, and the last for herself. With limited resources, she saved her metro fare to buy jaggery for cows. Her acts of kindness, though small in scale, were immense in their sincerity.

One Diwali in 2016, amidst celebrations, she encountered a heart-wrenching sight. A calf struggling to eat plastic while its mother stood helpless. The pain of that moment crystallized her resolve. She began feeding jaggery to the cows every evening, an act of devotion that became her daily ritual. Over time, she witnessed countless instances of suffering, from an injured calf bleeding profusely to a newborn calf abandoned by its mother. In each instance, her compassionate intervention brought relief and hope.

Anjali Ji’s dedication led her to establish connections with local gaushalas (cow shelters). She tirelessly rescued injured and abandoned cattle, ensuring they received proper care. Her visits to these shelters deepened her commitment to serving Gaumata, igniting a vision for a larger cause.

In 2018, while working as a branch manager with PFA, she actively contributed to animal welfare. Yet, she felt her efforts were insufficient. In pursuit of greater spiritual and practical understanding, she immersed herself in scriptures, studying in Vrindavan. This period of self-reflection and learning culminated in a remarkable initiative using Ram Katha (stories of Lord Rama) to spread awareness about the significance of Gaumata and the virtues of selfless service.

Her storytelling was not merely a recounting of ancient tales but a heartfelt appeal to awaken humanity’s compassion. Through these narratives, she highlighted the invaluable role of cows in sustaining life, from providing milk and tilling fields to offering nourishment and utility even in old age. Her words carried the wisdom of scriptures, reminding people of their duty towards these gentle beings.

By 2023, Anjali Ji had established a small treatment center for cows in her village, driven by the conviction that every effort, no matter how small, could bring change. Her vision extended beyond animal welfare; she aspired to revive ancient traditions of education and service. She dreamed of creating gurukuls where students would begin their day with the service of Gaumata, study scriptures, and emerge as compassionate leaders dedicated to societal well-being.

Anjali Ji’s life is a testament to the power of purpose and compassion. From her humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of hope for countless animals, her journey inspires us to look beyond ourselves and act for the greater good. She reminds us that even in a world filled with challenges, a determined heart can make a difference: one act of kindness at a time.

Her story, rooted in love and devotion, continues to inspire those who encounter it, urging them to embrace their duty towards the voiceless and the vulnerable.
